General Conference
The postponed 2020 General Conference of the United Methodist Church begins meeting on Tuesday, April 23 and concludes on May 3 in Charlotte, NC. To follow General conference news visit this link on our annual conference website. There are podcasts by Virginia delegates introducing topics that will be covered, delegate biographies, links to the official General Conference website and more. Portions of the conference will be live-streamed if you want to follow along. Please be in prayer for Pastor Beth, the other 21 delegates from Virginia, volunteers including Dr. Mary Miller, and all the delegates gathering. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be poured out upon their work together.
Haygood will host a Coastal Virginia District Post-General Conference Information session on Sunday, May 19 at 3 pm. Come then to learn an overview of what happened in Charlotte. The Virginia Annual Conference will host a webinar on May 9 as well. Look for details on the conference website or in upcoming issues of the Beacon.
