April Open Session Meeting Notes

Attendees: Beth Fite (Chair/Lay Leader), Gene Jones, Mike LaRock, Carol Loyer, Sarah Wright, Jessica Grau, and Debra Hockey (secretary)

Welcome and Opening Remarks: The meeting began with Breakthrough Prayer.

Spiritual Formation, Sarah: How change affects our lives, but we cannot live without change. Ecclesiastes reminds us of a time for everything. Trust God and remember Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Leadership Equipping: Handout titled Recognizing the Call: What We Look For In Leadership. We are tone-setters. We need to remind folks, as needed, that young leaders have been around since John Wesley. In the Methodist Church, we don’t focus on age, but on calling and character. Role as a congregation is to support the leaders God has called.

Ongoing Business: Replacing/Fixing the big sign, tabled for now until funds are donated/raised. Anglican church rental of chapel - conversations in progress and board agreed to trial period.

Preschool: Vaccine policy reviewed and upheld.

Financials: Monthly giving is in each bulletin, for the previous month. Financials have improved since last month, although still not where they need to be. General fund increase of roughly $1K in March.

Facilities: Chapel windows look fantastic!
