Meet the Pastor

Rev. Evelyn, has been serving in ministry since answering God’s call at a young age. Raised in the United Methodist Church in Yorktown, Virginia, she first sensed a call to ministry in sixth grade and preached her first sermon at age twelve during a youth-led worship service. That experience helped shape a lifelong commitment to sharing the love of Christ through preaching, teaching, and compassionate leadership.

Rev. Evelyn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Communications from Randolph-Macon College and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. Throughout her education and ministry career, she has served churches and nonprofit organizations in a variety of settings, gaining experience in pastoral leadership, community engagement, and faith formation. She also completed Clinical Pastoral Education training and was approved for Full Membership as an Elder in The United Methodist Church.

Her passions in ministry include preaching, Christian education, leadership development, worship for children and families, pastoral care, advocacy and justice ministries, and creating welcoming communities where people can encounter the transforming love of Jesus Christ. She believes the church is at its best when it helps people grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover their God-given purpose.

Rev. Evelyn is married to Aaron, and together they are raising their daughter, Adeline. Their family also includes their energetic dog, Peaches.

Outside of ministry, Evelyn enjoys spending time outdoors, making music (she plays the tuba), exploring museums, studying history and current events, watching movies and musicals, and enjoying thoughtful conversations with others. She loves getting to know people’s stories and walking alongside them in their faith journeys.
